Para la datación de la obra partimos de su comparación con una obra inacabada, identificada como Sin título (Cat. 883 b) en tanto presenta la misma figura del dragón, aunque –siguiendo ya una práctica del artista– aparece invertida, pero con mayor cantidad de detalles que permiten aproximarla a las obras realizadas durante 1924.
