Notas Ignoramos si el juego de cartas de Tarot se encuentra finalizado, y la existencia de algunas cartas sueltas, como hemos indicado en el registro anterior, muestran variables en relación con el juego tal como llegó hasta nosotros. En el caso de la carta de la Muerte (o Muertie), según la tradición oral, esto es, la información transmitida por su viuda, Xul no la tiraba, pero esa misma tradición nada nos informa acerca del mecanismo del juego. Tampoco informa acerca de esa fusión entre algunas delas cartas que pertenecen al juego tradicional y aquellas otras en las que suma una nueva iconografía –directamente relacionada con el Zodíaco y cuya correspondencia uno encuentra en pinturas como, por ejemplo, Zodíaco (Cat. 944)– y en las cuales, la relación de todo el conjunto es construida por el empleo de los símbolos de los planetas, de los signos zodiacales y de una numeración de base duodecimal, además de letras que parecen identificar a cada carta.
