Observaciones La palabra que da título a la obra muchas veces aparece acentuada: “podré”; sin embargo, en la pintura dice “podre”, que en portugués (como oportunamente nos lo ha señalado Jorge Schwartz) significa podredumbre o podrido. En el contexto en el que aparece -y de la misma experimentación que el artista estaba haciendo en relación con el neocriollo-, pareciera que tiene que ver más con esa idea lo que se ve reforzado por otras inscripciones: Pluto, aludiendo probablemente a la obra de Aristófanes, socialismo, oro, etc. Se trata de una de las pocas pinturas que en el caso de Xul permiten una lectura en clave política, económica y moral.
