Notas La documentación que “rodea” a esta obra es la que permite reconstruir el método de trabajo de Xul: un retrato fotográfico de F.S. Schiffer a partir del cual el artista estudió el rostro de Miguel Ángel Asturias –tal como aparece en uno de sus cuadernos de apuntes–, luego la realización de dos estudios al lápiz (Cat. 1723 y 1724), en los que el escritor es presentado de frente y de perfil. Esto último le permite ya componer el retrato, a lo que suma lo que en realidad es el punto de partida de la obra, la carta astral de Asturias. Un proceso semejante se observa para Retrato-Sagitaria (Cat. 910) y en otros casos en los que se conserva solo parte de esa documentación, como en Sin título [dibujo preparatorio para horóscopo retrato del Rev. Covello] (Cat. 1718) o en sus estudios identificados como Cat. 1726 a 1729. La documentación indicada aquí vale también para Horóscopo retrato de Miguel A. Asturias (Cat. 912). Notas Conocido como Retrato-Sagitaria, en general se ignora que se trata de un retrato de Micaela Cadenas, esposa de Xul Solar, nacida bajo el signo de Sagitario el 28 de septiembre de 1902, para el que además realizó varios estudios, aquí indicados en Obras asociadas. Lita fue también objeto de otras pinturas, como Horóscopo de Lita (Cat. 965), a la que se debe agregar dos retratos grafías (Cat. 1296 y 1297) y un dibujo (Cat. 1730) todo esto sin contar aquellas grafías que también se relacionan con ella (Cat. 1048, 1049, 1278, 1050 y 1279).
